How to get to Tulum

You’ve landed at the Cancun airport, now what?

Tulum is about two hours south of Cancun so, sit back and relax, take a nap, grab a snack and a drink for the road.

Some want the cheapest, some want the fastest and everyone wants to get there safely!

There are basically two ways to get from the Cancun airport to Tulum.

We’ll start with cheapest, if you are a solo traveler or a couple, taking the ADO bus from the airport to Tulum is the cheapest way to get to Tulum at 266 pesos per person about $13.50us per person. The bus will take you to the downtown Tulum bus station, so if you are staying on the beach or outside of the downtown area you will need to get a taxi to for the rest of your trip. Taxi fare to the beach area will run approximately $5.00 to $9.00us.

Check the ADO bus website for departure times and if there are price changes.

 

Private transportation service to Tulum

The second, and most popular way to get to Tulum  is a private transfer service. This is something you reserve in advance, see links below. There are many companies who offer this service, you can purchase  drinks and snacks,  request car seats for the kids and other essentials when you reserve with any of the four I am going to mention. All have stellar reputations and you can’t go wrong with any of these. There are slight pricing differences between each one, so check them out to find the best price.

Canada Transfers is another great company, and you can even pay with Canadian dollars if you wish.
