For Carry on luggage. I would suggest getting the 3.5 oz plastic bottles and filling them with your favorite soaps shampoos and lotions before you leave your home. They will last about two weeks, I use them all the time, as I do not check luggage due to lost luggage in the past. This way you can have all your favorites that you use every day.

Hi Sherry,
The list above is basic ideas on what to pack, of course carry-on only requires a different kind of packing. You know the liquid rules, so maybe you would buy your shampoo, and sunscreen and any other liquids once you get there.
I know you can buy razors but I don't know if they are triple blade, if you want to do the carry-on only you might have to substitute some of your favorite brands etc. You can always stop at Walmart before heading to the island to buy necessities. Some hotels provide shampoos and conditioners, so you may not have to buy that.
I wonder if people end up spending just as much on things that can't pack in a carry-on as what it costs to check a bag? I may have to try it next time and see what I spend on all the stuff I have to buy in Mexico. You'll have to throw away, or giveaway the unused amounts of these items when you leave.
Remember, also if you have a connecting flight on your return you won't be able to bring home things like vanilla or liquor, those items have to go in checked bags. I'd love to hear from others on how they pack carry-on. Post it here to help our other readers!

Do you have a revised version for those of us who only do carry on & have no checked baggage? I thought some of the above items were only for checked baggage and I could really use clarification on this. Can I buy disposal triple blade rasors on Isla Mujeres? LOL...Thanks

Hi Stacey,
You can buy it at eco-parks.
Take a look at a couple that we recommend here
http://www.cancunstore.com/category_s/36.htm

You can order the Mexitan online and have it shipped to your home.
If you plan to use a airport transfer service, I recommend entertainment-plus, they also sell the eco-friendly sunscreen Batab, that you see on the above site. If you use them for transport, you can also get your sunscreen from them. That's kind of handy :)

otherwise, if you prefer to buy it at home, check health food stores.
